Organising Committee

The Governor’s Prayer Breakfast is an important event in the calendar of the wider Christian community of Western Australia and the organising committee is dedicated to its continued growth, success and relevance. It is organised on a ‘not for profit’ basis by an incorporated, voluntary committee which has no denominational allegiance.

Our current committee members are:

Shirani Amarasingham

Shirani was born and brought up in a godly Christian family in Malaysia and came to live in Perth in 2007. Shirani worked for over 35 years in the legal/commercial sector in Malaysia, Singapore and Australia and in July 2020 felt it was time to move on from the corporate world fully into Christian ministry.

Over the years, she has served in various areas including in worship/music (singing at hospital, aged care homes and prisons), community work and intercessory prayer. Intercessory prayer is the ministry closest to her heart, especially praying for Australia.

Shirani and her husband Winstedt worship at Subiaco Church of Christ where Shirani serves as a deacon.

Nico Oberholzer

Nico is a project manager in the resources sector. He is married to Annemi and they have two children. The Oberholzer family moved from South Africa to Perth in 2007 and now call Australia home.

Nico and Annemi is actively involved in several ministries in and around Perth and served on various boards and other non for profit organisations.
